Another F1 fan here. I am amazed.
They have been looking at him for next year. there has been talk about it for a couple of weeks and he was at Monaco, at the Williams garages. With Ralf skipping test sessions maybe they will do something during the season. He missed the last session and told them he wouldn't be at the next one. (the one Jacque is going to drive)
I don't think it will help the team though. The car seems to be a big part of their troubles this year.

I know they're having problems with the car but it's still a great news. Villeneuve is the last driver to have win a championship with Williams after all.
It's also good for the ratings.
Whne Jacques won the championship the ratings in Quebec were close to a million. When he started having problems with BAR it went down to 500 000 and this year so far it's around 130 000

His father was a much more better driver, true talent.
I don't mean to be offensive to Jacque fans, but he did win the championship in the best car of that era. Even Frank Williams still admits today that any monkey could have become world champion in that vehicle.
As for him replacing Ralf, I sense he could even raplace Motoya since the Columbian has already signed with McLaren for next year, and has expressed disappointment with Williams's current car.
